On the "wrong" side are all of those blasted 4-wheel drive truck ads which
show them tearing around the Western US like a bunch of idiots just for the
sake of ripping up the land or getting somewhere no-one else can go.
Chevrolet had one a couple of years ago which showed a guy with his truck
parked in the middle of a stream, fly fishing out of the back. I wrote them
about it and it disappeared the next year.

Subject: more help - this time on advertising
Flushed with success at the results of my last request (many thanks
to everyone who suggested films - I'll post a full list of all
suggestions shortly) - I am also doing a session on advertising. So,
can anyone recommend any literature on representations of
environment / nature in advertising (general literature or analyses /
deconstructions of particular adverts)? (I am interested in print and
broadcast media.)
Many thanks
Quentin
