I reckon "BladeRunner" had some interesting "environmental"
themes...including the differences between artificial lifeforms and natural
ones.
"When the Whales Came" (I think that what it's called), set on the coast of
England early this century was a pretty interesting movie in every regard.
Can't remember who made it.
The Australian movies "Storm Boy," "Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome,"(Yes, I
am serious) and "Ground Zero" This last one is about a journalist's
investigation into the British testing of atomic weapons in the Maralinga
desert region of South Australia, the weapons affected the local Aboriginal
People living there who - at that time - did not have citizenship rights
and were listed in the "Flora and Fauna"...very interesting and a good movie.
The British movie "Turtle Diary" (with thingy and thingy in it...don't you
hate it when you can't remember incredibly famous people's names?!).
Hope this helps.
