hi corey... i'm a student at the university of florida... graduating this
december... woo hoo... ahem... :) but anyway, i've taken some
environmental ethics courses here and i must say that they have been
extremely eye opening and also well taught... what the teachers here do...
the good ones anyway... is to get three or four of the best books on
environmental ethics... usually general, all-inclusive ones... and then
open the class for discussion to get some feedback from the students as to
what they think about the issues (i think good teachers always include their
students in discussions as much as possible... it's sometimes suprising the
amount of good ideas and deep thought that can come from a group of
students)... and a third thing that i would like to see in such a class but
have not seen, is some modern day examples of how environmental ethics is
actually applied to political decisions... how much influence does ethics
really have? this is still a question that i wonder about... if you'd
like some examples of the books that have been used in some of my classes,
i'd be happy to pass those along....
spirit
