Dear list members,
my name is Massimiliano Grandi and I am an Italian.
I am student of the Special Schoool for Archivists and
Librarians of the Rome State University "La Sapienza" and I am preparing
now my final dissertation.
The subject of my dissertation is "The Internet and the Italian
archives".
I found in the URL address "http://www.archivesinfo.net"
website some news about the Archives and Internet Group, and I tried to
connect with it by clicking on the hypertextual mark, but unluckily I
failed to do it! The screen of my computer showed me the following message :
"HTTP Error 404. 404 Not Found. The Web server cannot find the file or
script you asked for. Please check the URL to ensure that the path is
correct. Please contact the server's administrator if this problem
persists."
I have tried to connect many times, but the outcome has been
always the same.
Might you help me by telling how could I get in touch with
the Archives and Internet Group? I am eager to connect with this website
and to speak with some of the members of this group.
While visiting Italian archives websites, I realized that in
Italy we are on average far more backward than you Englishmen in creating
and implementing archival websites, and so I think it would be a great
asset for me to get some information from this group. Furthermore, I would
get some articles and books I saw on reading the "printed bibliography" in
the webpage headed "Writing Web Pages - Guidelines for Archivists, produced
by the Archives and Internet Group", a webpage I found when I visited the
URL "http://www.archivesinfo.net".
I hope I have not troubled you and I apologize for my bad
English.
Thanks for your attention
My best regards
MASSIMILIANO GRANDI
