PRO doesn't have comprehensive lists of British POWs in German camps but
some information can be gleaned form files, according to one of our leaflets
'Prisoners of War 1660-1919. AIR 1/892/204/5/696-698 contains lists of
British and dominion POWs in Germany, Turkey and Switzerland in 1916, and
there is a list for 1915 (mainly covering Giessen camp) in ADM 1/8420/124..
The International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva keeps lists of all
known 1st World War POWs and internees of all nationalities - write to:
The Director
International Welfare Department
British Red Cross Society
9 Grosvenor Crescent
London SW1X 7EJ
All the above information is from the aforementioned leaflet but I should
warn you that I am looking at a 1990 version and haven't time to check a
later one to see if the BRC address has changed.
The Bundesarchiv address is:
Bundesarchiv
Potsdamer Strasse 1
