Planning is currently under way for a call for proposals in the
British Library Research and Innovation Centre's information retrieval
research programme, for projects to start in the financial year
1999/2000. As stated in the Centre's Research Plan April 1998 to
March 2001:
http://www.bl.uk/services/ric/research/res-plan.html
the Call will have two major action lines: multimedia information
retrieval and retrieval from the Internet. While the details of the
Call are being finalised, I would be very interested in views on
specific themes which you think should be included within these action
lines and on any further action lines you think should be added.
I have also recently updated the Web pages for our information
retrieval research programme:
http://www.bl.uk/services/ric/research/ir-main.html
and would be glad for any feedback on them.
Apologies if you receive multiple copies of this message.
