No - this is not another request about costs, live request
limits or allowing undergraduate access to inter-library
loans!
I would welcome details of any schemes in use for allocation
of numbers of library-budgeted requests to each department
or faculty in an HEI - historical basis, number of academics
etc?? and/or details of any mechanisms to ensure fair use of
the system.
Does anyone operate a filtering system for requests which do
not seem to be genuinely needed? Yes, I know that this
really ought to be a departmental issue!
How are heavy users of ILLs monitored?
Any comments would be welcome on the effectivenes of,
experience of devolving an ILL budget to departments
alongside that for monographs and periodicals.
Thanks
