Thanks to those folks who backchannelled me with offers of supporter
subscriptions for RSE and advance orders, as a result of my last posting.
I didn't mean to rubbish anybody else's ideas by promoting RSE - it just
irks me when people moot new co-operative schemes, when existing
enterprises are not as well supported as they might be. But I particularly
want to encourage Chris Emery and to offer any help and advice I can. Who
do you want to publish, Chris?
And yes: SubVoicive, Barque, REM Press, Wild Honey, Writers Forum,
Equipage, Prest Roots, Invisible Books, Spectacular Diseases, and a host of
others need your support: buy books, subscribe, go to readings.
Oh, I forgot to add Denise Riley to the list of RSE poets coming up - how
could I?
As to poets who ought to have Collected or Selected poems out:
Pete's list:
John James - I had this idea some time ago, but was met with silence from
the poet
Barry MacSweeney - yes, but maybe Bloodaxe could do it
Grace Lake - deserves a big book, but can be a difficult poet to deal with
Maggie O'Sullivan - we may get there one day
Ric's suggestion:
Peter Riley - I'm very sympathetic to this
others:
Denise Riley
Wendy Mulford
David Chaloner
