if I take Karlien's "aufhebungerlossungsgeschichte" correctly, and I'm the
first to doubt this, I might post a somewhat serious response tending
toward the suggestion that phenomenology (which I mention of course so
that I might 'gain face') can be alloyed curiously with historical
awareness, kind of a shard blend-up, maybe the following by Celan (of all
people)? :
KROKUS, vom gastlichen
Tisch aus gesehn:
zeichenfuehliges
kleines Exil
einer gemeinsamen
Wahrheit,
du brauchst
jeden Halm.
I am not utterly persuaded by Habermas' consignment of Heidegger to the
sin bin, it seems to me that anything so finely and avowedly rhetorical as
Being and Time cannot help but isolate its authority somewhat, the leap to
a pernicious historic influence seems a bit wistful. I wonder, having
just bought Simon Jarvis' _Adorno_ and having noticed a section devoted to
something like this issue (200-7, I think), what he'll make of this
question. Can't wait to read it. Anyone seen it yet?
