In principle, errors could open you to civil suit for "derogatory
treatment" (Copyright, Designs & Patents Act 1988 s. 80). I have
hunted on and off for case-law establishing how this works and
not found any -- though photographer Philip Jones-Griffiths
reached a very satisfactory settlement with Saatchi.
The Act (s. 81) excludes works which are "for the purpose of reporting
current events" or "appear... in a newspaper, magazine or similar
periodical".
