The University of Sheffield Library, St George's Library
Project Manager: RIDING Project
The Yorkshire and Humberside Universities Association (YHUA) has recently
been awarded a grant through the Electronic Libraries (eLib) Programme to
support large scale resource discovery across the region. Beginning in
January 1998 and running for a period of 22 months, RIDING will create a
Z39.50 gateway to a virtual union catalogue of nine university libraries,
one public library and resources of the British Library. The project will
be led by the University of Sheffield on behalf of the YHUA.
We are looking for a person with proven experience of successful project
management, particularly related to the implementation and evaluation of IT
systems, coupled with an understanding of the issues facing libraries as
they move into the age of electronic document delivery. The RIDING Project
Manager will assume overall coordination across many different players and
be supported by two Node Managers who will have specific responsibilities
for the ten participating libraries.
Salary: Senior Library Grade 5 scale, in the range £29,380-33,202.
