In response to Chris Ray- to recap my contribution from when this last came
up; I believe that if you start with the (green) concept of rights as being
one based on reaching potential or flourishing, then it can apply at any
level of society (or ecology) and does not have to be based on any kind of
individualism, indeed it leads to a very much more complex interdependent
framework. Unfortunately this makes it more difficult to examine rights in
a reductionist way as we 'rational', post-enlightenment people have been
taught to...
