Fourth Postgraduate Conference: 14-15 February 1998

"MEMORY"
Proposals for papers on the theme of 'Memory' are invited from
postgraduates working in any area of Medieval Studies. All interpretations
of the theme are welcome. Approaches might include the use of memory in
political or religious works, the significance of memory to communities or
individuals, the relationship of memory to literature, the reliability and
purposes of memory.
Papers are limited to a reading time of 25 minutes. Proposals of no more
than 250 words must be received by 31 OCTOBER 1997.
There are plans for papers from previous postgraduate conferences to be
published.
Academic staff and undergraduates are also welcome to attend and
participate. A limited amount of accommodation (beds and/or floorspace)
will be available for the night of the 14th. We also hope to be able to
refund speakers' travel expenses.
There is NO CONFERENCE FEE.
