This conference is being organised as part of Architecture week, run
jointly by the Arts Council and the RIBA.
The Learning Spaces conference is aimed at architectural and urban
design teachers and students, architects and other built environment
professionals:
* to discuss the impact of new technologies on education and practice
* to share experiences of integrating IT into the teaching and
learning of architecture and associated disciplines
* to study 'best' practice in re-thinking education within this
changing context
* to see examples of electronic teaching and learning materials
concerned with the built environment
THEMES
=======
Learning Spaces is organised around four sessions. First, keynote
speakers will introduce key issues in architecture, urbanism, IT and
education. This will be followed by parallel workshops, on 'teaching
differently' led by teachers with experience of developing electronic
media. Then, there will be a choice of workshop sessions
demonstrating and discussing some 'cutting-edge' developments in
teaching and learning materials for the built environment. Finally,
guest speakers will summarise the 'state of play' and future
developments will be discussed.
