Hi,
in fact FIREBALL supports part of the Dublin Core Set. DC-Meta-Tags
are mapped to the corresponding fields in FIREBALL. Below you will
find a list of synonyms FIREBALL supports:
MetaAudience: audience, zielgruppe, distribution
MetaAuthor: author, autor, owner, author-corporate,
author-personal, mathdmv.author, dc.creator, dc.contributor, contributor
MetaCopyright: copyright, eigent<DC>mer, eigent<FC>mer,
urheberrechte
MetaDescription: description, beschreibung, dc.description,
doccom, abstract
MetaKeywords: keywords, schl<FC>sselwort, schl<DC>sselwort,
mathdmv.keywords, subject, dc.subject, gegenstand
MetaPagetype: pagetype, page-type, objecttype, object-type,
resourcetype, resource-type
MetaPagetopic: pagetopic, page-topic, thema, seitenthema
MetaPublisher: publisher, herausgeber, dc.publisher
We clearly do not want to establish a non-standard, non-compatible
metadata scheme or even hamper dissemination of DC solutions. As soon
as there is an official standard for meta-data FIREBALL will
fully support it.
FIREBALL is developed by FLP/KIT (http://flp.cs.tu-berlin.de)
and run by G+J Electronic Media Services (http://www.guj.de). We are
using basic Alta-Vista indexing software, everything else
(roboting, service, presentation, ad-placement, etc.) has been
developed by FLP/KIT, partly based on earlier work done for the
Flipper System (http://www.fireball.de/technik.html). This allows us
to implement new and innovative features in FIREBALL very rapidly
(adequate funding provided ;-). Therefore we are generally very open
minded concerning new ideas related to search engines.
Regards,
FIREBALL Team
