Just as these elements should be optional I think it is very important that
their sequence remain undefined. I am a consistent (human - not machine) reader
of meta tags and we all have different placement methods which can assist (or
hinder) ease of update and of reading. I like to put
<META NAME="Date" CONTENT="1997-10-29">
last so that I can get to it easily when updating a screen. On the other hand I
like to put
<META NAME="Identifier" CONTENT="http://www.cinemedia.net/FOD/FOD0077.html">
at the top so that when I am using the screen as a template it is easy to
change the file number.
Its horses for courses - with 15 optional nags/tags - can you imagine the
strife we would be in if the sequence mattered ? Let's not tie them up/down -
let's keep them optional and flexible.
