I've discovered another problem (or, at least, one instance of a problem that
may be widespread) with .pdf files: I access my e-mail from home and on a
number of occasions have been timed out because of slow downloading of a
message. It happened again tonight - after three attempts and finally
reconfiguring the time-out feature of the software, I discovered... an e-mail
message with an attached .pdf file was causing the problem. Has anyone else
experienced this?
It was somewhat annoying to find that the offending file was the file the
discussion has been about, sent to the list by someone trying to help Cliff
McKnight but misunderstanding, I think, his original problem, which was not
downloading but printing.
Ah me! Dreadful thing this technology isn't it - why don't we go back to
knotted string and chains of Peruvian runners?
