Dear all,
Just to follow up my request for info about decent discussion lists around
environmental political economy ...
Firstly, thanks to everyone who e-mailed me with top tips, including:
Angus Cameron, Geography, Durham; Charles Booth, Bristol Business School,
UWE; Erlet Cater, Geography, Reading; Jonathan Fairburn, Geography,
Staffordshire; Tim Unwin, Geography, Royal Holloway; Catherin Brace,
Geography, Exeter; Kohei, Geography, Cambridge Jonathan Turton, Marlow;
Michael Maniates, Env. Sciene and Poli Sci, Allegheny College.
A few discussion lists were mentioned, with some information given about
how to join. I've not joined all of them yet or found out much about
them, but ones suggested were:
1) ONE-L (Organizations and the natural environment)
to join, send the message
Subscribe ONE-L yourname
to
[log in to unmask]
or visit the website
http://web.mit.edu/slrothen/www.ONE.html
2) Industrial ecology
which is a mailbase discussion list with the usual way of joining mailbase
lists, which - as it happens - I've forgotten for the moment
the list is
[log in to unmask]
but to join it you'll have to send the appropriate message to the mailbase
server. (ie don't send to the list itself). Have a look at the mailbase
web page - see below.
3) Environmental ethics
which is another mailbase list, so same instructions apply
[log in to unmask]
4) Geo-ethics
which is run mainly by Jim Proctor who can be e-mailed at
[log in to unmask]
for more info
5) Global environmental politics teaching (GEP-ED)
see the website
http://merlin.alleg.edu/mmaniate/GepEd/geped.html
for info.
Then, in terms of finding lists of lists, top tips were to have a look at:
For mailbase lists: http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/
For lists of lists, one of:
http://www.liszt.com/
http://catalog.com/vivian/interest-group-search.html
http://www.reference.com/
http://www.statsvet.uu.se/maillist.html
For general social science stuff, and probably lists of lists:
The social science information gateway at:
http://www.sosig.ac.uk:80/welcome.html
That's all. Thanks again to everyone for their help.
cheers,
alan
PS: I apologize in advance for the errors that I've probably introduced
into the various addresses above!
