Dear all
Those of you with an (intellectual) interest in matters corporeal,
might be interested to know that the theme of the 1998 Annual
Conference of the British Sociological Association (to be held
6th-9th April at the Univeristy of Edinburgh) is 'the sociological
exploration of the body'.
A more detailed call for papers may be found at the rather unwieldy
URL of
http://www.socresonline.org.uk/socresonline/notices/BSA_Call_970930.html
but Gill Valentine has asked me to draw your attention to one session
which might be of particular relevance (and which she is convening)
entitled 'Locating the body: place, space, and time'.
More details from her (not from me!) at
[log in to unmask]
but make it quick because abstracts (250 words) must be in by 30
September to
1998 BSA Conference
BSA,
Unit 3G
Moutjoy Research Centre
Stockton Road
Durham, DH1 3UR
UK
Hope some of you can make it.
Cheers, Nick
