We wish to announce that the IMPEL Database is now available on the
Web at :

The IMPEL Database is a searchable bibliographic database of
literature collected to support the IMPEL2 Project which is
monitoring social, organisational and cultural change in the
increasingly electronic environment of UK Higher Education and Higher
Education library and information services. It is hoped that the
database will be a useful source of references for anyone involved in
Higher Education during this period of change and development. It
will be updated monthly.
The database has been jointly created by the IMPEL2 Project staff in
the Department of Information and Library Management at the
University of Northumbria at Newcastle and Information Services staff
at UNN.
IMPEL2 is a JISC-funded eLib Project looking at social,
organisational and cultural issues connected with the electronic
