I have been following this very interesting discussion and would like
to add some of my own. In my opinion the resource types have
been too attatched to the paper based document types. Three document
types I have included in my my own attempts at constructing a
www-typology that I have yet to see proposed in this forum, are:
Document.FAQ
Document.Guestbook
and
Document.TOC (table of contents)
The latter including all those "www-pages" that only serves to direct
the user to another page (which - in many instances - is a TOC as
well). The TOC-type may however also includes internal TOCs.
I will also like to add my support to the use of homepage vs.
webpage, we still need a document type to classify the personal and
organisational webpages that are not homepages as such. I hope the
discussion will continue to be fruitful, and that we will be able to
liberate ourselves from the constraints that scientific and fictional
literature may have put on our wiev on document typologies.
