Dear meta-colleagues,
At the Canberra meeting earlier this year, a number of people asked me
if there was any progress to report on the Warwick Framework. This
question has been repeated in a number of other venues. Each time I've
alluded to a paper that Ron Daniel and I were working on. Ron and I
have finally finished the paper (for tbe 1997 IEEE Metadata Conference).
I have placed a draft of this paper on-line for those who are
interested. The draft, titled "Distributed Active Relationships in the
Warwick Framework", is at
http://www2.cs.cornell.edu/lagoze/papers/DAR-draft.ps. This paper
references a more conceptual paper in D-Lib Magazine last month that
talks about the role of the Warwick Framework in resource discovery; it
is at http://www.dlib.org/dlib/june97/06lagoze.html. Your comments on
both are welcom.
