Bursary in Heritage Studies - Public Sculpture and Civic Identity.
A 3 year PhD research bursary on Public Sculpture and Civic Identity is
available from October 1997. Data collection will focus on Nottinghamshire
but there is an oppourtunity for comparative studies and the development
of themes such as monuments and regional and national identities; the
contemporary reinterpretation and use of historic monuments; and museums
and the public sculpural realm.
The research will be in conjunction with the Public Monuments and Sculpture
Association's national survey of public sculpture. Applications are invited
from graduates in Geography, Heritage Studies, Urban History, Art History
or Sculpture Studies.
The bursary award is for 5150 pouns with annual revision.
