I based my comments on the list of convenors and plenary speakers on the
Net. All are indeed from Britsh Universites, I checked it again. So I
should have used "plenary speaker" instead of "speaker"
This issue has ben on this list before, and on european-sociologist, so I
will not repeat myself. If you are interested in the cultural poliitcs of
this issue, there is a whole site on the language futures of Europe at:
http://www.inter.nl.net/users/Paul.Treanor/eulang.html
I recommend especially "Resisting Cyber-English": also interesting are the
Europa-Union Charter of European Identity, Eurolang, the Language
Engineering site, and Mion-Chanain na h-Eorpa.
