Dear all,
It's already that time for sorting out sessions for next year's AAG
(Boston), so I just thought I'd ask anyone interested in the following to
get in touch. Thanks.

HETEROSEXUAL GEOGRAPHIES:
Co-convened by Phil Hubbard (Coventry University) and Heidi Nast (DePaul
University, Chicago).
It is widely acknowledged that geographies of hetereosexuality remain
heavily under-theorised and under-researched. In this session, papers
will attempt to map the relationships between society, space and sexuality,
exploring the ways that (patriarchal) heteronormality is produced and
reproduced through space. Questions for discussion include:
- Where are the boundaries between healthy and unhealthy heterosex?
- How do sites of heterosex desire and disgust reproduce gender roles?
- Are places of sexual pleasure sites of resistance?
- Do heterosexist assumptions constrain women's use of space?
- Where are new heterosexual identities being formed?
These issues may be explored at a variety of scales (body-home-community
-nation) with papers exploring geographies of prostitution, sex
tourism, domesticised sexuality, urban and rural sexuality, sexual health
and education, pornography and heterosexual family relations welcome.
All offers of a paper/abstract should be sent a.s.a.p. to -
