Hello Meta2 list members
If metadata is going to take off universally on the Web, then it is clear
that the information has to be automatically generated. A key part of this
is how to generate sensible keywords and summaries to act as a surrogate
for the original document.
If this is a problem that anyone is interested in following up, you might
like to check out the two content analysis techonlogy demos on our Web
site. In both cases they accept a URL and return either a set of keywords
and phrases, or a hyperlinked summary. See
http://www.intext.com.au
for pointers to the two InTEXT SDK demos. Ive also recently written a White
paper on the possible role for our technologies in DCM. Its called
InTEXT Content Analysis Tools - Making Dublin Core Metadata a Practical
Proposition?
and its at
http://www.intext.com.au/whitepapers/dubcore.html
I'd be really interested in any feedback on any of the above and any ideas
on how we might contribute to the cause (and eventually make a buck out of
it!).
Who are we?? InTEXT Systems is headquartered in Folsom California, and our
research and engineering labs are in Canberra Australia. All (or some) is
revealed at
