Apologies for any cross-posting:
The geography department in Aberdeen has been given a
fully funded PhD studentship by the Faculty of Social
Science. This has all happened at the last minute and as
such the number and quality of applications is low. If
anyone knows of a good final year student, or Masters
student, who is considering a PhD we would appreciate it
if you could bring this to their attention. The chances
of success are fairly high!
Alex Hughes and I would particularly welcome applications
in the general area of Uneven Development,Economic
Restructuring and Cultural Change and more specifically
in Aspects of Work Reorganisation and Labour Market
Change, Production-Consumption Linkages, Cultures of
Economic Organisation and Comparative State-Economy
Relations.
Unfortunately the initial deadline is a week today (May
30) but given the paucity of responses so far this may be
extended into the following week.
Applications, in the form of a c.v. plus brief research
proposal (up to 500 words) should be sent to Alex
a.s.a.p. at following address:

Thanks for your attention
