Greetings,
I have posted my report about the Canberra discussion on Dublin Cores
in languages other than English (see
http://www.cs.ait.ac.th/~tbaker/Cores.html). I believe there is still
time to send suggestions before it is appended to the overall workshop
report.
One point on which I would appreciate some advice is on what to call
the opposite of the "minimalists" -- ie, those people who want to use
qualifiers to make semantic distinctions within Core elements instead
of using the fifteen broad elements "as is". In my report, I have
called them "specialists". In a recent posting, Rebecca Guenther
called them "structuralists", which I like, though it makes me think of
Claude Levi-Strauss. Any other suggestions?
I have also set up a mail reflector for follow-up discussion, starting
with those who signed up in Canberra. If I missed anyone, please send
mail to [log in to unmask], putting "subscribe" or
"unsubscribe" in the Subject line. Messages can be sent to the group
as [log in to unmask]
The list will focus on Dublin Cores in multiple languages (the Thai
Dublin Core, the German Dublin Core, etc) and on methods for linking
these models in useful ways over the Web.
Tom
