If anyone is interested, we are distributing the latest CLIC derived
CD-ROM. Some 5000 copies have gone out thus far,
and a re-print may already be in the works.
The CD-ROM includes five main items
1. Examples of CLIC "no paper equivalent" enhanced articles
2. The proceedings of the second CLIC organised e-conference (some 100
articles and posters, all "enhanced")
3. Documentation, and a demonstration of the
XML/CML JUMBO browser (the star of the recent WWW6 developers conference!)
by Peter Murray-Rust. This is a must for those of you interested in both
SGML and Java.
4. A "canned" demonstration of the Hyperwave system, implemented using
Java within Netscape!
5. A 3D molecule library, containg some of the technology developed by MDL.
We note with interest that very recently MDL were purchased by Reed-Elsevier,
who put out a press release saying that this technology used in
conjunction with the 1200 R-E journals. We at CLIC claim credit for having
thought of it first two years ago!
We also include a demonstration of the MCF metacontent browsing by
Apple, and a few "easter eggs" for you folks to find!
I have asked the RSC to send a set of CD-ROMS to
Chris Rusbridge, and people may wish to collect them from him,
or direct from the RSC.
