New list: Lis-Copyseek
A new list for copyright permission seekers within libraries has been
established.
It aims to provide a safe envrionment for the sharing of copyright owner
contact
information, pricing and permission policies, conditions of agreement and
so on. It will also be used for the discussion of new developments in the
copyright industry which may affect the permission seeking process. The
list has been designated a 'closed' list as potentially commercially
sensitive information may need to be shared. However, anyone involved with
seeking
copyright permissions both in higher education libraries and elsewhere is
welcome to join.
Lis-Copyseek covers both print and electronic permissions and is primarily
concerned with the UK experience of gaining copyright permissions whether
from UK or international copyright owners. It is imagined that it should be
a fairly 'low traffic' list.
Lis-Copyseek is run by Elizabeth Gadd, Project ACORN, and Andrew Brown,
University of Derby Electronic Library (UDEL).
