They would say that wouldn't they.
A standardised way of accessing rights info seems to be a very useful role
for DC. Education work in a complex intellectual property environment which
is combination of cooperative sharing of information and competion for
clients [previously know as students ;-) ].
I can imagine in the context of EdNA (www.edna.edu.au) a set of standard
clauses for different approaches to rights which could be developed by EdNA
and selected by users in the education sector, and referenced via DC
fields. For example:
* licence for non profit orgs
* licence for educational orgs in Australia
* license for schools in this state (because the state ed department paid
for it)
In short - keep up the good work David - dont be put off by the
'information wants to be free' purists (I dont disagree with them but it
ain't the world we are working in).
