Hi,
Sun announced last week that it has developed an
implementation of Java soft that will work with 486
machines running MS-DOS. The aim is to 'breathe
new life' into the 180 odd million older PCs out in
the market place (and is a response to Microsoft's
NetPC, which in turn was a response to Sun/Oracle's
idea of the Network Computer). Thus is born the
Net Computer.
I am working on something for the Financial Times
looking at this and would be keen to get some
input from companies that have been thinking about
the issues raised by the Network Computer and
Java for their own internal purposes.
Can anyone put me in touch with someone working
in the corporate environment with views and/or
experience with this?
Regards,
