Hello,
from someone extremely outside of this discussion I must say, that
in my opinion the current favorized solution to enclose qualifiers
on the right within parenthesis isn't very, say, elegant. Anyway,
regarding the fifth solution I came across the following (sixth?)
Why not stating that every DC element has qualifiers with a count
of 0 qualifiers being valid:
<META NAME = "DC.publisher"
CONTENT = "(Type=Name) (I think it is "Bloggs &
Bloggs" but I need to check this)">
<META NAME = "DC.publisher"
CONTENT = "() (I think it is "Bloggs &
Bloggs" but I need to check this)">
(Don't mess with me if this example isn't correct DC.)
Thus, each CONTENT starts with '(' followed by ')' optionally containing
qualifiers. This woudl simplify the parsing process, because there is
always a qualifier section enclosed in parenthesis.
However, I don't feel very comfortable with this solution. I would
prefer this old 'dot-kludge'. I've browsed through the URL Jon (or Jim?)
stated the other day and found, that this solution was found 'not easily to
parse'. Well, in my opinion, parsing the current solution is just
more difficult.
Best regards
Peter
