Information Technology Projects officer

Applications are invited for this post at the Open University Library which
has been created within the IT Development Group.
The postholder will work on a variety of projects including maintaining and
administering the Library web site, developing maintaining the Library
conferencing system, supporting end-user training, developing desktop and
other management information applications within the library. This is an
interesting and expanding area, which offers scope for initiative and
personal development for the pro-active candidate.
The successful candidate will be a graduate with postgraduate qualifications
in librarianship, information science or equivalent and will be expected to
have experience of a range of relevant library and information systems
including WWW/HTML, library management systems, databases and bibliographic
handling software and office management software. The post holder will have
a flexible attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and
will be able to work independently.
Appointment will be made at an appropriate point on the Academic Related
Grade 1 salary scale GBP14,317 --15,986 (under review) p.a. according to
qualifications and experience.
