I have been asked to give a talk to an ECUP meeting in London in
about a month regarding copyright issues that have arisen in eLib
projects. In particular, they want me to talk about issues regarding
digitising materials (including scanning in from print), and issues
to do with fair dealing in an electronic environment.
I am aware of some of the issues that have arisen because project
staff have contacted me for advice. I would be grateful for comments
from all projects that have been involved in copyright in any way
(especially Electronic Document Delivery, Digitisation, and On demand
Publishing projects) for reports of issues that arose, decisions that
were taken, negotiations that had to take place, etc. That way I can
draw together themes that seem to be emerging, even if they are
"there is no problem whatsoever" (I wish!).
Brief informal e mails would be fine - or else please send me text of
relevant reports (or point me to the appropriate URL). Many thanks in
anticipation. (Liz Lyon can ignore this message, as PATRON get a
slot of their own at this conference).
