As someone who is half Welsh and half Danish I was interested in the
messages about the change of name of the Anglo-Nordic Seminar to the
UK-Nordic Seminar. How come that taking account of the existance of
Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland is "stirring up nationalism"?
Ignoring their existence is much more likely to stir up nationalism -
and quite justifiably too! However, having said that, the use of the
term "Anglo" in describing links between Britain or the United Kingdom
and foreign countries does not particularly bother me as I have never
regarded it as implying that England is the only part of the UK
involved.
