No direct experience but some opinions......
I would think that generally speech systems are not going to cope well with
DTP. DTP is mostly about moving and sizing objects and this tends to make
the interfaces very mouse intensive and therefore not well suited to voice
control. Some packages (Pagemaker 4 was one I think) have odd mouse or
mouse/keyboard combinations (control-shift-click, alt-triple click, sort of
thing) that may not be supported. I know other keyboard emulator users have
problems with these.
My guess is that Dragon would probably cope OK with the menu/dialogue side
of most DTP packages but good voice macros would be needed to simplify
operations and that would involve some work.
The main problem will remain how to drive the mouse around. Total hands-free
users may be better off with a different system completely (HeadMaster?).
Those with manual difficulties but who can still use a mouse would probably
be better off without speech for DTP, though perhaps using speech if
significant text creation will also be required.
Hope this is helpful
