Thanks for the responses to my paper. On the technical problem I have
tried to upload again using a different format, but I'm not sure if this
will work any better. I've been told to try x-uuencode instead of
Base64. If it still doesn't work I'm happy to send a hard copy to anyone
who wants it.
(the `Francis' is entered by the It Dept. It amused me so I left it. I
once got a summer job because the employers thought I was male.)
Thanks also to cris for suggestions for further reading & the wonderful
excerpts. I often get frustrated that it's easier to read excerpts of
these works in academic criticism than it is to get hold of the original
texts. But this is a wider problem./ I did think about Oxota, but
excluded it for its `sonnet' form./ someone at the colloque - I think
he was an academic from New Zealand - also talked about Bernadette
Mayer, and I'm glad you included her work. / these appearances and
distributions should be traced in ourselves and our texts, whatever
fears we might have of being appropriated by others. they will do that
anyway.
Excellent reading last night at Sub Voicive by Alan Halsey and
Geraldine Monk. Geraldine finished her set with a series of short
stories, though she complained about the difficulty of reading the long
lines.
