Dear members of the list,
i've been reading through the emails that have been sent since my first
appearence in this group. i must say that i found the list very
interesting even if sometimes a bit too high standared for my
possibilities as a foreign and young person. Certainly i wish i could
take part to the recent discussions but i fear i might just sound silly
and trivial. Maybe i still bear in mind those kind of question a child
would ask about life, like "where do we come from?" or why do we exist?
My father told me he found it difficult to reply to my questions when i
was a droling baby since he was trying not to cheat as many people would
do... Simple but silly question, this is the point. Are they really
silly? Is there a point in trying to reply to those or is it just a
waste of time? I mean, the appropriate answers to the childish quetions
have possibly been discussed in the past... how many millenniums? 
I try to come to the point now that a solid introduction has paved the
way. 
What is or what should be the leadind theme in modern poetry?... not
every poet faces the blank page with doubts  on "Empire-ism" but writes
anyway, with the ancient wonderings on his  power or worthlessness or
pushed by her Adam or his Eve... in a recent letter someone wrote that
poetry without comunication is not poetry, I don't always agree, it
might comunicate nothing but suggest thousand of thoughts...
Whose is the power to decide what is good and what isn't ?(it is not an
arrogant statement but a real question).
Someone holds this power, something does maybe?! 
why shouldn't intimate comunication or even self thought be considered
creative and artistic.
I'll digress. Regional poetry or just the introduction of slang has in a
way disclosed poetry to everyman. But if we look at it carefully it
hasn't really. A regional slangy poem introduces the colorfulness of new
world and new sounds but now is addressed to the comunity that share
that language ( it still comunicates, it still is poetry). WE could
think that this process can be applied over and over reducing the
numbers of readers able to understand without notes or help... where
lies the limit between art and private comunication? Two close friends
might share expressions that exist just in their "world of words"...
they can comunicate without being understood... Why should we consider
them as being unable to produce art? Isn't it true that if their secret
expressions were disclosed everyone could understand and it could be art
again.We could even consider the case of the 'stream of counciousness'
which is understood only by the single individual.

Then my question is : Does private art exist?

veils this letters but i hope someone will find its content stimulating.
