Hi keston,
terrific post re - the Grolier reading.
Have you been browsing in their shop?
It struck me as a most peculiar selection,
very based in identity politics and the
'fess up market when i went there last fall.
Apparently Heaney has a flat nearby - above?
Liked what you said about the cons of the big public
reader and its tendency towards the party poem,
the vacuous grandstanding.
Particularly enjoyed your take on feeling excluded
from >any form of overt or meaningfully
>obfuscated honesty whatsoever.
Honesty far too easily passes for the security blanket
of cliche that reassures. Constructions based on
similarities enclosing fear of difference. The clipped
utterance (even though it might go on for 400 pages).
love and love
