Surely that wld mean she had already sold or signed away the rights to OUP
anyway
it is of course the degree to wch you give away rights - when a small press
takes your work you give them copyright, by definition, for that run but
possibly not further - for instance with my rwc i will tell you that i aim
to keep the work in print... but when i have exhausted the run agreed i
will check, probably quite informally, if i MAY reprint
it isn't a problem for most of us for most of the time, but seems to me
that granting copyright permanently is not wise nor do i see why it should
be necessary from the publishers point of view - apart from anything else
one might later wish to suppress the piece of writing
