O, it's nice to see all the stuff about fakes in the new Poetry Review
(87/2, summer 1997), including yet more on Ern Malley. What prompts it is
the return to the Araki Yasusada affair, and PR quotes Perloff's article
in Boston Review (22/2). Because it gives the wrong web address, I'll give
the right one:
http://www-polisci.mit.edu/BostonReview/
As an editor who's had a fake planted on me before now (and spotted it,
but rejected it for other reasons) I can spare a thought for the editors
"duped" in these cases, particularly now that so many people are coming
out of the woodwork with the well-we-were-never-taken-in-by-it comments.
