Next Tuesday 8 p.m. Wendy Mulford & Fanny Howe read at Sub Voicive Poetry,
Upstairs, The Three Cups, Sandland Street, London WC1 admission £5 unwaged
£2.50 [this is not meant to apply to those so well off they dont have to
work]

We shall publish - hopefully - it's always cliff-edge / seat of the pants
Sub Voicive Poetry 1997 number 14 one pound fifty incl post in UK -
overseas rate available

I commend the A - Z to anyone who doesn't know where it is. It is
fiendishly difficult to describe though it is not hard to get to. NB London
cabbies do not know where it is or think they do and dont.

Holborn Tube - Piccadilly isnt stopping there this month. Number 8 bus from
Victoria.

Look for the entire block that isn't there.

We start at 8.15. The point of saying 8 pm is to deal with those who aim
for 8.15 and then come late because of transport delays.

And there is also the problem of people coming late noisily. We have had
that increasing at SVP recently and I am trying to deal with it.

I think it is important that the poets are allowed to read with as few
distractions as possible. It is possible to come in quietly.

Additions to the published and widely advertised programme....

After Wendy and Fanny, there is one more performance in this half of the
season - Patricia Farrell and Aaron Williamson. 1st July 1997

We start again on Friday 19th September 1997. The poets will be announced.

After that on 23rd September is Jerome Rothenberg and Pierre Joris which
was announced long ago.

After that, a newly-announced reading
Spencer Selby will be reading - with slides - on Thursday 2nd October 1997.
You can see Spencers graphical work on the cover of Sub Voicive Poetry 1997
number 12 featuring Gilbert Adair and on the cover of the new Mainstream
Book called Surface Bursts by Gilbert Adair. SVP 13 is one pound fifty
incl... Surface bursts is two pounds

may i also plug jizz rim fifth outtake from writers forum three pounds
excluding postage - - fifth outtake is very good - new direction etc -
though that is based on one hearing and a quick read through

cheques to lawrence upton for svp and mainstream - address 32 Downside Rd
Sutton Surrey SM2 5HP
no address near me for wf but pay cheques to New River Project for wf books

back to the list

friday 17th october - poets to be announced - this is a pre colloquium
reading

saturday 18th october - sub voicive colloquium - this is at centre for
english studies senate house - price and times to be announced

11th nov - latin american poetry - poets to be announced
25th nov - alan halsey and geraldine monk

VOLUME TWO
I am sort of between email addresses at the moment. The one I am using here
is possibly a temporary address in the name of a friend so as not to
confuse by having my name from two places - as soon as I get a mailing on
this new account and i know it works the other one will be removed from the
list

To get backkchannel mail to me very quickly you can reply to me here but
remember it may change again

You can still send to me at Jethro Cadbury - [log in to unmask] - wch
is there i have been operating from

jethro will still be helping with mainstream and other projects but doesnt
want to receive the mailings

if you mail me there there will be a delay while he gets it and onforwards
it

VOLUME THREE

bye bye

Lawrence Upton
