my apologies for any confusion as I was doing that usual thing of following the
mail threads when bored with the academic study and so whilst sitting here
replied and should have been a little more, well I wouldn't say informative'
but less colloquial perhaps. my fault. yes both cited things are sessions
that occur or did occurr in brighton where I live. I study up at sussex and
know Drew Milne vaguely through reading groups and seminars etc. the brighton
scene seem generally quite different other readings judging from from reports,
as I mentioned. a less 'professional' (awful word) sort of atmosphere maybe.
lot of student poets, and a few flashes of brilliance. there is also a more
'pro' (better posters etc, 'published writers' etc) scene and a lot of focus of
prose there. I mainly attend for the fact that to hear spoken word or writing
or whatever you want to call it, in a public place is important, in particular
as I'm trying to develop my own possibilities.
