Just for the record, the list remains open after this incident: orff fell
on his own e-lyre (after, admittedly, a coupla careful notes from me)
thereby saving me the task of cutting his strings. This means that I
don't have to alter the sign-on routines, anyone can come into the room as
they please - a fact I believe to be important.
As for propriety, civility, it's so obvious in such a situation that it
needs no stressing. This doesn't mean we have to agree with each other!
There are enough fundamental differences on the list to keep a couple of
law companies busy, were our trade land, rather than words. Simply that we
deal with personal things in person - backchannel.
I have an e-mail of resignation from a recently departed list member which
I'll forward to individuals on request, in return for Neil Hamilton sized
brown envelopes. Enough. Where were we?
