A bit of shop talk. I was surprised by earlier discussions about
the potential for a 'Parataxis' reader, perhaps in conjunction with
other journals. This seems a tad premature to me, given the unsold
copies lying around hereabouts, and at dirt cheap prices. A
commercially produced 'reader' would be more expensive than buying
the material at source. I'm about to come up with a price for the
whole run of 'Parataxis', so that it can be bought as a library set
rather than as a journal. But in the meantime, I thought I'd post a
listing of what is currently available:
a) 'Parataxis' 7 - Chinese poetry issue, 128. pp., 4 pounds sterling
b) 'Parataxis' 8/9 - recent double issue, 244. pp., 6 pounds
sterling
c) John Wilkinson, 'Flung Clear', 240.pp, 7.5 pounds sterling
If more of these had sold, were selling, there would be more of such
books from 'Parataxis'.
Also available from this address:
d) John Wilkinson, 'Proud Flesh'(1986), 74 pp., 4.5 pounds sterling
e) Drew Milne, 'Sheet Mettle' (1994, 88 pp., 6.5 pounds sterling
f) Drew Milne, 'Carte Blanche'(1995), 24 pp., letter-press, 6 pounds
sterling
g) Drew Milne, 'Songbook' (1996), 20 pp., 2.45 pounds sterling
Prices include p. and p., direct from 'Drew Milne, School of English
& American Studies, University of Sussex, Falmer, Brighton BN1 9QN'.
If anyone would like a copy of my New Year card, which begins 'Mouth
off to plunger', it is free for the asking.
