I am not sure that it is off topic although it could become so

they way that we are governed and the manner in wch that is perpetrated is
central to almost anything we might write about., on or from

I was cautious of the euphoria in the days after the election and remember
expressing caution - in particular I was and am cautious of any sense of
having got rid of an oppressor given that

- the electorate elected the tories repeatedly

- the change in the overall vote is relatively small

the point of view of the new government is a class view as are all views at
least all views not subjected to rigorous and altruistic questioning and
consequent self-modification - class interests being a label for your
defining economic & power interests

I do not see it as being in the interests of Blare and other talkers as
they perceive their own interests to greatly modify ANYTHING - they are
literally _all talk_ in terms of their preferred occupation, their utopia,
their final state and the creation of a virtual world of talk in which you
say one thing and leave physical reality otherwise, to be repackaged by
customer care officials so that there is no apparent discrepancy -I know
they pray - they prey of goodness on themselves

when I voted Lib Dem it wasnt just tactical, but also because they are the
most socialist of the three large parties... before that I had seriously
considered not voting - I sd I had lost the faith not my self-respect as
Stephen sd in portrait of the artist - socialist is a silly word to apply
to the Lib Dems but that is the measure of the difficulty we find ourselves
in, the only adequate description is daft - but I had a personal feeling of
dislike for my mp and just helped to push him... then you get caught up in
it and I began to enjoy the apparent change - but now I admit the change is
illusory - smoother, creamier, more full of smoothness, country fresh - but
not your country fresh

that things may be better or look as though they may be better, in some
areas, momentarily, should not make us more relaxed - it is just the
millenium experience

the homeless are still homeless, the thieves are still in power,
