Dear Fiona
Oh yes, I realise the necessity to extend into micro-vocal particles (as
Henri Chopin, I think, put it, years ago), or into the insides and outsides of
language. Theoretically this work is very important to me: I've reiterated
the theories of concrete and sound poetries, particularly with relation to
Bob Cobbing many times. As a long time attender of Bob 's workshop
I've not found the way to improvise very well. I think it has something to
do with my singing: that it comes out as song as soon as I open my
mouth not to speak. (Dangerous at the dentist!)
Also, perhaps, the writing itself is so often a performance .
Thanks for your range of suggested activities. And the meditations on
silence.
I hush.
