Subject: Writing Studies Postgraduate work
I'm sifting through admissions portfoilios for interviewing for the next
cohort (I don't like that word) for Writing Studies (I do like that phrase:
better than "creative writing") candidates for the MA course. Very few
of them are poets, sadly, and I'm just reminding you all of its existence
should you know of any poets who might benefit from an MA that, in
addition to creative writing workshops, emphasises critical theory
(which I want to bend towards poetics) and the study of a wide range
of contemporary literature. In addition there is provision for work at Phd
Mphil level, for anybody who wishes to explore both poetry and poetics,
and, indeed, I will be advertising the details of a 3 year studentship in this
area very soon, although independent part time study is also possible.
So do have a think if you know anybody for any of these.
