Rumor has it that there's a book out or soon-to-be-out, written by clive bush
and called _Out of Dissent_, containing discussion of the work of allen fisher,
barry macsweeney, and bill griffiths. Hoping that one or several of you here
can provide details, including the basics of how and when one might order it or
obtain a review-copy etc. plus what you think etc. etc. etc.
On another note i feel i must add that 12 or so years ago i sat in the berghoff
in chicago drinking beer and watched seamus heaney consume quite a few oysters.
He seemed very much alive though he didn't want to talk poetry, saying that
what he most admired about elizabeth bishop was that she didn't much like
talking about poetry either. Taking him over to the reading later that night
I was simply astounded to see some 500 plus people lined up waiting to hear
him (the average reading in those days at u chicago drawing circa 30 folks).
Turned out word was out to the local irish-american community and here they
were (as never before) in force and seemed to listen attentively. At the
airport the woman selling him cigarettes said "you've an accent let me guess"
and then said "english" to which he said "no" and then "scottish" to which
ditto and then "australian" to which the answer was "yes." Scene from a day
long ago in the wax museum. Expensive to buy english cigarettes at O'Hare.

whose own origins within the wax museum can be determined by reversing the
order of the letters in his surname
